Traditionally, in Sardinia, a new bride would receive an urn to keep by her bedside as a wedding gift. As running water became more common in the 1950's, these nuptial vases became ornamental. Potters began making them larger and larger and decorating them ornately. Each potter has their signature vase. This is ours.
